How do we build friendship. Many look for what they can get out of a friendship and when that does not happen or a better person comes along, they dump that person. So sad! Friendship is about what you can offer, how much you care, and the desire to stand by that friend even when things are tough.

Following. Why do we follow a specific person, trend, fashion, band, etc… We see something we like and wish to be part of. It gives us a sense of meaning and belonging.

But there is also disappointment. Friends let us down, bands split up, fashions change, latest gadgets become old gadgets, etc… We feel an endless searching for something but we are so dissatisfied. Jesus talks about being the bread of life. I believe that by studying and following Jesus we can find satisfaction. He has words and actions worth considering and following.

I am watching people. It is a shame when someone does a lot of good only to be destroyed by others who criticise a failing or a difference. Isn’t it time to encourage others in their pursuit of good? If we are doing nothing good and we criticise those who are then we are at fault not them. Let’s put away our indifference and celebrate what we have in common.

Something is wrong. There is a longing in us all to be loved and made well. We carry these things around us day by day. We feel that nothing can and will change. There is a sickness that will never be made well from. 2000 years ago a man existed who reached to the heart of people. He cared and he had an impact on peoples lives. He cared so much that he was willing to die. He still lives in the lives of people who are willing to follow him today. Why not follow him too. His name is Jesus.

It is amazing that so many people want to help others. But the focus must be on that person and enabling them to bring about changes to their own lives. We cannot and should not impose our way of life and view on others. It may not be right for them. We might be the one who is wrong, and we need help in looking at ourselves, and making changes. I believe Jesus is our benchmark and we should introduce him to the broken, not us
