Oh People of Faith

What kind of people are we? How does the world see us? How do the people of faith see us. Do they see Jesus, or something quite different. Are we will to get down to the work of God’s Kingdom, or are we just sitting and observing, speaking lots and doing nothing. Do we have certain titles among Christians where people look up to us, and we enjoy that position. We must be aware of this, for power and words are nothing if there is no action involved. Jesus emphases the servant heart, we must learn to serve, for without service there would not be any Kingdom of God, and those outside the faith will not be interested. (Matthew 23:1 – 12)

Being called

Jesus is radical. He see right to the heart of people. The warning he has about prostitutes and tax collectors getting into heaven before us should be a warning to us all. Do you feel a call on your life. If so what are you doing about it? Do we think yes, perhaps tomorrow we will do it. But Jesus is calling us today, to do His work, and we need to push those doors open. If we say we do it tomorrow then we never will do the things God is calling us to do, for there will always be something stopping us.

Insignificant people

Lord have mercy on us. How often do we hear this? It is more, “Lord give me this and Lord give me that.” Do we come before God knowing that we are sinners and that we do not deserve God mercy. Only through His incredible grace can we come before him, which was achieved by the death and resurrection of Jesus.

Surprising is the crowd too, as they tell the two blind men to be quiet, as though they think they know Jesus and the way He should act. But Jesus is interested in all men and women, and if that person is hungry we need to keep encouraging them to develop their relationship with Jesus.

His work to fulfillment

God uses us and all aspects of our lives to bring his work to fulfillment. We may be the link that brings great things. Even revival. God places great emphasis on small things and those who do not seem significant. By our concern and love for Jesus we bring a blessing to other people, not just by what we say, but by our faith in God

Those who feel face confusion

Being in a place where there is conflict between people you love and they go their separate ways is hard. I do not want it, as great things can come from these people especially if they work together, and you have seen God work through them. But the aftermath leaves confusion and hurt. Split loyalties, and a desire for reconciliation. But it just not going to happen. Giving it to God is the only way forward, and asking for understanding and a way to heal the wounds. Trying to not take sides, which is hard when hurt, and making peace with both parties, not matter what is felt is a way forward

Ministry

God calls us to specific ministries. We see it with worldly eyes, and expect a worldly direction. But this is not God’s ways, God uses unexpected ways. The darkest journey can be very painful. God brings you through, and in turn will proclaim Jesus as Lord. This may in turn enable us to lead others who are going through similar experiences.

Jesus feeds the Five Thousand – Matthew 14:13 – 21

Jesus is obviously upset by John’s death, so he withdraws. We need to withdraw when we are in pain. Well I see it as a place where we can think and work through what is going on. If we do not allow time to think, then we carry around baggage when it should be shred. One of the great advantages we have is that we can turn to God and we talk through these things. God can do a work in us through prayer

We cannot forever live in grief. Yes it is hard and it may take many months to recover. But there comes a time where we just have to get on. It maybe that circumstances force the situation. We cannot give up on those around us or on God. We have a calling and we need to get back that.
Ok, I am listening. Yes I agree I must get back to this calling in my life. I need to work through this burden I have at the moment, even though it is painful. But something will hit me back on track – probably God 🙂  Yes I am called to service but it is tough doing things we do not enjoy and a position where I feel uncomfortable. The hardest thing is to focus. So much to do. What do I focus on. I need the help of God to enable me to focus.

If we continue to serve God then He will continue to use us, and enable us to do great things for Him. God is concerned for everyone and will use those who serve Him to bring those people to Him through us. He will provide for them. That is where our gifts come into the equation. We may feel that what we offer is not enough but God will use anything no matter how big or small. But I still feel that we have to access and reassess our calling, and what we are doing. We can only find this through prayer and studying the Bible. Sometimes we do get these feelings that something is not quite right and these are the moments when we need to reassess. And we then wait on God for an answer.

About

I am a follower of Jesus living in England. My day job is programmer/web developer.

I go to a lively Church of England(Anglican). I play the drums there. I am married with 6 children. I grew up in a family who believed in Jesus, and I decided to follow Jesus at 13. My testimony is that I got to point of asking what is this life all about, and the only answer I could find, is by accepting and living for Jesus. I am 45.

I believe in God and that Jesus came to earth to restore God’s kingdom. Because Jesus died for our sins, our relationship with God can be restored by asking for forgiveness and acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Saviour of our life. Jesus is the only way to God.
