Something wrong with the world

travellingDo you ever think their is something wrong with the world. With so much injustice, murder, hatred, brokenness, war, etc.

Is there a different world we can aspire to? Is it worth finding out?

I believe there is. A man who claimed to be God called Jesus talked about a Kingdom of God.

Jesus’ main requirement for this was to either follow or believe in him. Doing so will probably makes us look at ourselves in comparison to Jesus, questioning whether we are like him or contributing to make the world go wrong.

If we feel we want to make changes for the better then the world will probably benefit from our lives. Maybe it might even make others want to know more about Jesus, and choose to follow him too.

God bless

Light

lightWhat do we think of when we think of darkness.
Maybe a childhood fear of what is lurking in the shadows and a  longing for morning to give relief.
Maybe it’s a secret that you feel you cannot tell anyone, but it haunts you daily and you long for a day when you can get rid of the pain it causes you.
A man claiming to be God called Jesus called myself light.
Could it be possible that Jesus could make a difference to your life  and dismiss the darkness. He often said ‘follow me’.
Would you consider finding our more by reading about him or finding a wise person who believes in him. Let me know if you want.
God bless you.
David.

Forgiveness

forgiveAs part of a process of healing I looked at Forgiveness of those who had hurt me and looked on how we hurt God in the same way. We expect justice in our situation but we do not look at how we hurt God in exactly the same way as others have hurt us.

Sometimes we meet people who make us feel good. When they see you they seem to be aways pleased to see you, and they seem to appreciate what you do. Have you been there? I have and I thought those moments were great. It was good to get up in the morning and feel like I was contributing to something of importance. Everything I did was praised and appreciated. At times it was hard work but it seemed worth it, and the feelings I got from it.

But things change, other people came on the scene and I had to take a back seat. The things I worked so hard for were taken away from me and given to more skilled people, and I was left doing stuff I hated. Finally I was dumped.

To forgive is a hard one and for a sensitive person it is not easy. People will say ‘get over it’ or you should forgive. But that is not easy, it takes years sometimes.

A way of healing that I am choosing is to look at it a different way.

Often when someone searches and finds God. They put all their effort into God. It becomes their primary focus. They spend lots of time serving, praying and reading the Bible. But after a while, things become boring or hard. The relationship does not go the way the person wants. God becomes a dispenser and when God doesn’t comply then there is a lose of interest and faith. Other ways are found to bring meaning and God gets pushed into the background. We eventually give up on God.

As we are hurt, we could be hurting God in the same way. So instead of dwelling on ourselves we could see that we have a part to play and as God forgives us when we come back to him. Recognising the importance of our relationship with God and our attitudes we are more able to forgive others.

Peacemaking

dove_crossesLife can be tough. We journey along a road where we are affected by those around us. Some of the experiences are positive and some negative. We hope to get through each day without too many negatives. But sometimes the negatives rule our lives. This is especially true if we have had long periods of time where we have had a negative environment.

Our lives become ruled then by these negatives and we see no way out. We either look for conflict or escape. But we daily wrestle with inner emotions looking for revenge or an unfortunate event to happen to those who are hurting us. But this just eats at us and we find no peace. We even do not want to let go of these feeling as they are our way of coping.

How do we deal with all these negatives, and perhaps like with so many others we reach a point where we want to be free. Maybe the way we look at the world does not help us. If we look at the world as a warrior waging war then we will get hurt and want revenge. What if we look at the world in terms of peace. Perhaps this will help us strive for a better world for ourselves and hopefully those around us.

Peacemaking is a hard one, we all find it hard as we are going against a feeling of self interest and self justice. A world where we strive for peace rather than war is a better world. Hate does no one any good.
Is there a need in all of our situations to think how to bring peace rather than conflict and self opinion? Would things improve if that is what is strived for? I am sure it will be. And what are the obstacles preventing this from happening. Winning an argument comes to light. Having to prove one is right and opponent wrong. Let’s step away from this and perhaps we will win friends as it shows a respect despite differences.
