What are the main voices in your life? There are so many, pulling us this way and that. Are they good voices, do they bring happiness, meaning and fulfillment? Or are they placing heavy weights on your shoulders crushing you every time you do not achieve the impossible goals you set yourself. Perhaps you have given up and allowed these voices to control you through something like drugs, alcohol, self harm, etc… I do believe there is a voice inside you crying out to you in the wilderness, calling you to a relationship with the creator of the universe. To bring you to a safe place, a home, away from the other cruel voices.

It is amazing how our lives are spent with how we feel. We get up in the morning and our mood reflects how the day will be. Maybe this happens, while driving a slow car pulls out in front of you with no hope of overtaking. Can we controls how we feel, can we turn moods into laughter. I think so. Sometimes it is our view of the world or our expectations. We maybe have been taught to hurry and high morals, and when things do not go our way or someone behaves badly then we get stressed and moody. Perhaps we just need to let go, or expect the circumstances we are in. If we are a minute late, is it really a problem. Sometimes all we need to do is made a phone call to apologise and say we are running late.

But there are times when spend long periods of time feeling down, I admit that. It is tough. If a person is constantly making you feel stressed, bad and hurt, there needs to be a new direction for your life either working things thought with that person to resolve issues or just to say goodbye and move on. Yes, it is hard, I hate not being able to resolve things with difficult people in my life, and it is hard to say goodbye, but something needs to happen before a breakage.

What is at the heart of life. Is there good lurking, is there kindness and caring. Has it been locked away for another day, a day that will never come. Our lives are spent rushing around and doing. Perhaps we need to stop, reflect and make room.

Where do we find hope in the midst of hopelessness? Hope is something that drives us. Without it we give up.

Look at your life. Is there any hope. Sometimes it depends on who we are. Some of us look at the negative, some the positive, and some in between.

My hope is in Salvation. Someone who cares and wants to be my friend above any bad things I have done. For me it is found in Jesus Christ, His life, death and raising from the dead.

What I find hard about those who call themselves Christian is that they start with bad news. They keep telling us how bad we are and how we do not deserve to be a friend of God. Yes we do bad things and there is a holy God. But does God sit there saying “Hmmmm… not good enough, they need to try better, oh dear, shouldn’t say that, etc…. “. I do not believe this what God is like. We need to start from a point that God loves us, no matter how Good or bad we are. This is grace. This is what Jesus is all about. God coming in the form of a human, living among us, feeling the pain and laughter, etc… and dying at the hands of evil people. He did this because He loves us, and wants to be our friend. The raising of Jesus to life again is the hope that in the end everything will be made right, that there will be justice and care. And a chance of living with God in a place called Heaven. You may say that we do all these bad things, surely God will not accept us until we have sorted them out. But that will never happen. It is about saying yes to God, I will include Him in my life. Read, talk and learn, using the Bible. Through time we will change, and we will find areas of our life that are not right which we talk to God about. By doing so we find ways and strength to deal with the bad, and that includes saying sorry.
